13 years ago I did my first 5k swim... At that point I didn't really have any xperience of someone close having cancer... Fast forward 10 years and the second 5k swim I did was in memory and thanks of the wonderful support Marie Curie gave my father and his partner when his partner was dying... In 2017 I found it hard going, and swore to my family I would never ever do the swim again as it was so draining... Obviously my memory must be on the blink, because foolishly I have signed up again to do the 5k swim (200 lengths) again for a third time... This time several of my close family members are currently fighting their own battles.. And in response and for them and others, at the ripe old age of 46... I am doing it again.... On 4th April I will be swimming my little heart out to complete the challenge and will be spending the next 3 months mainly in the pool training..
