London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
Have you ever done something so crazy without really thinking it through? I have - many a time.
This one is deeply personal for several reasons. The brave people who make the Air Ambulance services possible do so relying entirely on donations and goodwill.
That's right - all the people in remote areas, those who are victims of road accidents or kids in need of a life saving lift to a A&E - all those folk - your family, friends or neighbours perhaps, are reliant on these wonderful services.
I'll be interviewing and sharing details of the heroic work these guys perform - and the doubtless somewhat more shambolic story of my lurch to marathon fitness.
On another personal level, I have completed the Ride London 100 miles, the Serpentine 2 mile swim and need this running event to gain a medal called the London Classic, which I'll wear with pride on the day then stuff in the back of a drawer somewhere :)
Seems like a good thing to do on the year I turn 60 -a return to fitness post pandemic sitting around.
So please give as generously as you can, and let's support these wonderful causes, the reduction of my waistline and more importantly - lifesaving services.
