Hi,

 I'm Lloyd Thomas, a 19 year old swimming coach from Bridgend in South Wales.

On the 19th March this year, I will be trekking for 18 days to Everest Base camp in Nepal. The goal is simple – to take part in one of the most fantastic treks to the foot of the world’s highest mountain and summit Kala Patthar (5,645m) – a majestic mountain located near Everest Base Camp. It has always been an ambition of mine to see Mount Everest with my own eyes and I'm looking forward to the challenge.

I am funding this trip myself but by doing the trek I'm hoping to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support which is a charity close to my heart. Macmillan Cancer Support provide a fantastic service to people affected by cancer and members of my close family have benefitted from the help they provide.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated and hopefully this trek will have a positive effect on people affected by cancer.
