Story
1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. If you're over 50, or you're black, or your dad or bother had it, you're at even higher risk. I'm running the London Marathon for Prostate Cancer UK because I want to (a) find a cure for this horrible disease, (b) raise awareness and encourage men to have their PSA checked, it's only a blood test! and (c) make people aware that it doesn't just affect older men, it can happen to younger men too - my lovely Dave was only 51 when diagnosed. I've ran 5 marathons in my lifetime (1 being London in 2019), it's bloody hard mentally and physically. The training is brutal and takes over your life - much like having cancer, so although I don't fully feel the effects of that, I feel like it's constantly on my mind about Dave and others. Prostate Cancer UK are beyond fabulous, the support of the nurses is incredible without them we wouldn't know where to turn. Please please help me raise as much money as I can to help them beat prostate cancer. 'We want a future where lives are not limited by prostate cancer. We unite the brightest minds in science and healthcare and the most passionate and caring people to help men LIVE LONG and LIVE WELL. Thank you
