Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The date: As some of you are aware I have been banging on about this walk for years and the month has finally arrived when I can set a date to do it. Put Saturday 1st August in your diaries friends and family if you want to do the walk.

The plan: My plan is to organise a group walk from Mytholmroyd to Manchester along the canal, taking in a derelict mill, lush green valley/countryside of West Yorkshire, and walking to the wonderfully exquisite industrial proud city of Manchester. You can even start at Sowerby Bridge and do the whole length of the Rochdale Canal if you want to add a few extra miles onto your walking journey. You can drop in or out of the walk at any point if it all gets too much as pretty much close to transport links between here and there.

The walkers: All welcome, even dogs as long as they love a good long walk, and remember to bring suitable footwear, refreshments and train fare for getting back home!

The charity: I have chosen to combine the walk with a charity Baby Lifeline as they provide vital equipment for maternity and baby units. I am happy for others to join me with fundraising for this charity, but of course you are more than welcome to join us just because you love walking, or for your own charity of choice, but this aspect is close to my heart especially as I am finishing and one step closer to becoming a midwife, I thought it very appropriate to give in this way.

If you're interested get in touch with me on Facebook as I'll set up a group for anyone who wants to do the walk - YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE WALKING FOR CHARITY.

JustGiving: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
