Story

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which provides specialist care to sick term and pre-term (premature) newborn babies. The state-of-the-art facility is located at the Princess Anne Hospital, Southampton. This has 37 baby cots, 23 intensive/high dependency cots and 14 special care cots.It is one of the largest neonatal units in the country treating around 900 babies each year, from Southampton, Poole & Bournemouth, Chichester, Dorchester, Basingstoke, the Isle of Wight, Salisbury, Winchester and the Channel Islands.Babies have survived as young as 23 weeks, with some of them only weighing 460g/1lb. Picture a baby smaller than the size of your hand. Imagine the skill needed to care for and treat something that size.Money raised could go towards new equipment, more resources for families, improvements to parent facilities or additional staff training. All of which could help to improve the unit even further, ensuring babies and families receive the best care possible.

Hi everyone 👋👋👋

👋we are holding a charity golf day on the 13th of may in memory of our son Alfie who would of been turning 18,💔❤️💔
Let me tell you a little more about it…. As you may well know on the 14th of may 2004 I gave birth to identical twin boys Charlie and Alfie, we were thrilled and had a wonderful year of chaos and making wonderful memories,we decided to get married on their 1st birthday!!!!

A week before this day Alfie developed a bad virus and was admitted to Poole hospital , things turned really bad and Alfie was transferred to Southampton intensive care,we we’re then told a couple of days later he needed specialised treatment and would be taken to great ormand street hospital we waited on the edge for a babies ambulance as there are not many of them, alfie travelled to G.O.S were he was put on heart and lung bypass his Illness took a massive turn for the worse and I month later our little solider passed away back in Southampton picu surrounded by his family ❤️he was just 13 months old 😢

After a while we decided to fund raise and we raised much to our amazement enough to buy a childrens ambulance for P.I.C.U at Southampton. With the number plate X999 ALF😢

We held these events for around 5 years and once we had accomplished this we sat back and watched Alfie’s ambulance travel the roads and got sent pictures from friends and family who saw it on the road, helping to save childrens lives we’ve had friends following it on the motor way, pictures sent to us it was a great comfort to us to know he was saving little ones life’s ❤️

I contacted Southampton hospital early this year to enquire how our little ambulance was doing and was told how it had saved many, many little ones life’s but it would be retiring this year 😢but another ambulance is in place for it we have decided to do 1 last event to hopfully buy a piece of specialised equipment for it ⭐️

So I am asking for all your help with the power of Facebook

We shall be holding a golf day (where Andy will be getting his wish of having a team with his boys🙄)
It is teams of 4 players £60 pp including golf and buffet
A raffle which I am asking for any raffle prizes that could be donated however small 🤞any local businesses who could help us out with a voucher or donation
But more importantly for all our family and friends to come up and have a drink to remember alfie ⭐️

If any one would like to put a team of golf in or donate a raffle prize please please let me know 🤞🤞🤞
Otherwise hope you can come up to Dudsbury golf club On the 13th may from 4pm and hopfully raise a little money for Alfie’s new ambulance ❤️💔❤️

We’re not loooking to raise thousands of pounds just a token for a piece of equipment for the new ambulance 🤞

Thank you for reading 😘

Life’s been hard since loosing Alfie, and the last couple of years has taken it out of us all for many different reasons, but brighter days are always around the corner ☀️☀️☀️☀️😘😘😘
