15 MAY 2010 : WOW - WHAT A NIGHT. IT WAS FANTASTIC!

Our group set off just before midnight with so many people it was a very slow pace. But after about 7 miles the walkers spread out. Every few paces there were cheery volunteer course marshalls to guide us, manage the traffic and cheer us along.

At 10 miles the half-mooners left us and there was more opportunity to up the pace.

Half way provided a great feeling of motivation. But, I really got into my stride after 17 miles and enjoyed the last 9 miles the most. I even managed to put in a couple of 10 minute miles!

After 24 miles I knew I could finish in under 6 hours if I pushed the pace. 24 miles then into Hyde Park, 25 miles and round the Serpentine, 26 miles and up the hill for the final 0.2. So many people there to cheer us on.

So I finished in just under 6 hours a very emotional feeling of achievement for myself and for the cause.
