Hi friends of saigonchildren,

We are the staff of Saigon Children’s Charity CIO. Our daily tasks are the same as employees in other firms. We create the programmes, make the proposals, organize the events, have our field trips, brainstorm the marketing campaign… But the difference is that our beneficiaries are Vietnamese children. Since 1992, we built over 450 classrooms and provided over 35,000 scholarships. 

Normally, we create the events to encourage people to fundraise for us. This time we would like to do something special. We will run for our organization! We will be taking part in the 10 KM run of the Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City International Marathon on 2nd December.

We know it’s not something you may see as difficult, but you can imagine that most of us are office ladies. We are familiar with laptop, papers and clipboard. Now to prepare for the run, we get up early to practice running every day, change our daily diets a bit (no milk tea and “banh trang tron”).

We have targeted to fundraise US$ 1,000 (23,500,000 VNĐ) for our children. Imagine the difference we can make: every US$ 200 (4,700,000 VNĐ) raised pays for one child's education for one year including school fees. Just US$ 17 (400,000 VNĐ) takes a child off the streets and into school for a month. Think about that, with US$1000, 5 children who would otherwise miss on an education and the opportunities that creates for them and their families.  

Please save your milk tea, draught beer or even “banh trang tron” this week and use that money to sponsor us to help more children to have a fighting chance.
