Story

A mere 9 hours and 22 minutes was all it took for us to trek around the course created so carefully for us by the sadists at Walking With The Wounded!
While those of you living in the South were basking in semi tropical sunshine, we set off at 07.30 into a classic Lakeland morning - The top half of the extraordinarily perceptively named HELvellyn, photo above taken from its summit, featured 40 knot winds, 25 yard visibility at most and driving rain.

Your sponsorship genuinely helped us surmount these weather based hurdles and we are delighted to say that we finished 21st out of the 34 teams that completed the "Tougher" route. 16 teams did not make it around at all and diverted onto shorter versions due to the weather.  Yes we do feel proud that we beat the elements but far prouder that thanks to your extraordinary generosity we were given the prize for the team which had raised the largest sum through fundraising.

We were fortunate enough to meet various veterans who have been helped in some way by WWTW and they were profusely thankful for all that we, and through us you, have done for them.

My comfort and certainty that WWTW is a great charity that does a huge amount to help those who have helped us has only increased.

To those of you who have already sponsored us, a massive thank you, to those who wait in the shadows, it is not too late.
