The Keep Me Close Appeal - providing a home from home experience for families of sick and premature babies requiring Neonatal Intensive Care.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

If you know me, you will know that my son, Eli, was born a little over 13weeks early. Our local hospital is not equipped to care for such sick babies so he was immediately transferred to Derriford Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 31miles from our home. In the very early days we stayed on the ward, but then we were accommodated in a nearby travelodge and other hospital accommodation. In an unimaginable situation it was essential that we could stay close to Eli.

Keep Me Close Appeal has raised funds to secure a flat on site so that 7 more families may be kept close together. However, the rent on this flat is funded entirely by donations. This is where I’m asking for your help to show my gratitude.

On 16th May, I will cycle 35 miles, one for each night we stayed away from home, to raise money to help other families. In addition, on the same day, my stepdad will start a rather more epic ride from Lands End to John O’Groats. If you’ve read this far, I’m hoping you will now click to donate and help keep us motivated.

It will say the donation goes to Plymouth Hospital Charity, however you’re donations will make their way to Keep Me Close.
