Story

I am a Professor of Vascular Physiology at the UCL's Institute of Cardiovascular Science (ICS) and have worked at UCL for almost 30 years!! During that time, I have been working with a team of scientists and clinicians trying to understand the cellular mechanisms underlying pulmonary hypertension (PH), a devastating disease where blood vessels in the lung become thickened and narrower, causing high blood pressure and the heart to pump much less efficiently.

With funding from the British Heart foundation and through industrial partnerships, we have been changing clinical practice, successfully developing novel drug strategies to treat different forms of this frequently fatal disease, which still remains significantly under diagnosed.

This bike ride is a fantastic opportunity to get fitter, have fun with my colleagues and to raise money for a great cause.

Please support me and Team UCL. Every donation you make helps fund much needed scientific breakthroughs.
