Story

Running the London Marathon 2021 for Robbie’s Rehab Charity

When Robbie Keville was 6, he lost his mum Kate to breast cancer. He had aspired to be a doctor. However, aged 8, he himself was diagnosed with cancer – a brain tumour. Despite the best efforts of the amazing medical team, he sadly died aged 10 in February 2016. Before he died, Robbie had the brilliant idea of forming a charity so that children could continue to receive support after diagnosis and treatment in hospitalHe named the charity ‘Robbie’s Rally’ and his family and friends are continuing to fulfil his hopes for the charity. https://binged.it/2D5fywp

Robbie’s Rehab is now up and running at Southampton Hospital. They provide specialist professionals (including clinical psychologists and physiotherapists) to help children who have been diagnosed with a brain tumour and their families. Before starting on the doctorate, I worked at Robbie’s Rehab  as an ‘Assistant Psychologist’. I had the privilege of meeting the bravest children and their families during and following their treatment in order to offer support to help them rebuild their lives at home and at school.

Therefore, I will be running my first London Marathon 2021 for ‘Robbie’s Rehab’ charity, this incredible cause and would be grateful for any donations you can spare.
