I am taking part in the London Marathon in April 2016 in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital School Charity (Charlotte “Chilli” Simpson Brighter Future Fund).
I am running in memory of Charlotte who was an extremely close family friend.
Charlotte was an English teacher at Shebbear College in Devon and the GOSH School Charity would have been extremely close to her heart. Charlotte’s contagiously bright and positive spirit has made a unique mark on the lives of her students, as well as her friends and family. The students whom Charlotte taught, have expressed how much of an inspirational teacher she was. Charlotte’s caring and admirable nature, shone through her teaching, encouraging her students to achieve their full potential.

Charlotte was involved in the Army Reserves – Intelligence Unit. She was required to have and maintain a high level of physical fitness. This London Marathon would have been one of her chosen future challenges to have participated in.Charlotte’s achievements in her 24 fun filled years was testament to her pure love for life, as well as her true grit and determination to make the most of every day. Charlotte was an example on how to live life – with integrity, selflessness and with an uplifting sense of perspective – someone who never seemed to forget the importance of having fun.
Charlotte’s beautiful and talented nature, radiant smile, uplifting spirit and joy in life was a gift to us all and is missed enormously by all every day.
