64% of young people in Southampton feel their mental health has worsened during the pandemic. Worries about health, money and friendships, increased OCD and dealing with bereavement - young people need more support to help cope with the new normal.

Story

Meghan (not her real name) is a 15 year old young carer, looking after her Mum. During the lockdown, the two of them have been at home together all the time. Meghan has been really worried her Mum, who has underlying health conditions, would catch the virus. Before the lockdown, Meghan was supported by her grandparents and aunt, as well as having friends who she could talk to. Alone and without support, Meghan worried about the virus, about getting food, about getting her school work done on their old laptop. The anxiety, plus continual instructions on handwashing, brought back her OCD habits. As the lockdown begins to ease, Meghan is suffering anxiety attacks about leaving her mum and having to go back to school when she's so far behind. No Limits wants to continue to be there for young people like Meghan and there is more need now than ever, brought on by the experience of the pandemic and lockdown. Please help me support them to continue their amazing work.
