Bath Half Marathon 2013 · 3 March 2013 ·

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

Our beautiful daughter, Jess, was diagnosed with Crohn's in January 2012.  This is a life-long condition and completely changed her life. She has had to endure 4 operations in the last year, with her last operation being the largest and most invasive, meanng that she now has to wear a colostomy bag - something no 19 year old should have to do!

Throughout it all she has not complained once, has never said 'why me', in fact she has said often, I'd rather it was me than someone else.

Jess has the most positive outlook on life and continues to live to the full. She continued with her Uni studies throughout and loves life as a student and has never let her condition affect her life.

I think it has been tougher on us, her parents, than her!!

Therefore, in complete admiration of my daugther and other suffers of this awful disease, I am going to run (or crawl) the Bath Half Marathon.  I want to raise as much money as possible for Crohn's and Colitis UK - who aim to improve the lives for anyone effected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease the most common forms being Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
