Story

Tom, Holly, Duncan and I are taking part in 'Trek 26 Stonehenge 2021' and walking 26 miles for the Alzheimer's Society.  Every pound we raise will get us closer to beating Dementia.

Anyone who has been touched by Dementia as our family and so many of our friends have, will know how devastating the disease is for all concerned.

During the  journey with my wonderful Dad, we all met so many funny, wonderful, interesting people who also had the disease.  Their care is excellent and we have a team of knowledgeable, experienced and loving carers.

But, and this is a big but, there is no cure; some medication helps some people.  In the 21st Century, we really need to sort this and find ways to treat, alleviate and manage symptoms so that Dementia is no longer the terrifying diagnosis currently faced by so many millions of people globally.

Alzheimers UK are not only there to support families on their journey but are carrying out crucial research towards beating this disease.  As with all charities, they have suffered from a lack of funding over the last year and a half.  That's why we're challenging ourselves to walk the 26 miles.

Thank you for sponsoring us!

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
