I am not a runner! Anyone who knows me knows this. But this year I am taking on two personal challenges, this 5k Parkrun and later in June a 10k. This is all down to one amazing lady, my friend Lauren. Lauren was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer in April 2021. After a short and fierce battle, Lauren lost her fight in December last year.

 I am running to raise money for the amazing charities that supported her throughout her battle. Jo's cervical trust provided Lauren with the guidance and support she needed. She was a real advocate of spreading the word and importance of kmowing your body and trusting your instincts, exactly what the charity does. 

As a team we are also raising money for 5K Your Way: Move Against Cancer and Macmillian.  Lauren was an ambassador for 5k your way which is an inclusive, friendly group that runs Parkrun once a month. It is for anyone affected by cancer (patients, family and healthcare professionals).
