The Macfarlanes Abseil Challenge · 26 June 2019

We are raising money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, in support of the groundbreaking Cancer Immunotherapy Research Project.

Story

On Wednesday 26th June, a number of Macfarlanes staff will undertake the challenge of abseiling 262ft down the UK's tallest sculpture: the ArcelorMittal Orbit at Stratford Olympic Park. They are doing this to raise vital funds for our charity partner, The Royal Marsden Cancer Immunotherapy Research Project. This is a groundbreaking research project with incredible potential for cancer patients worldwide.

This was in part inspired by the experience of one of our firm's partners, who underwent life-saving immunotherapy treatment at The Royal Marsden hospital. Immunotherapy boosts the body's own immune system to recognise and attack cancer cells and has led to the development of new drugs which now offer hope to patients with advanced and previously untreatable cancer. Immunotherapy is a real game-changer in cancer treatment, opening up a new avenue for treating cancer which didn't previously exist. We need your support to help develop this new area of treatment that holds huge potential for cancer patients everywhere. You can make direct donations to the charity in support of this exciting research project on this page.
