Story

Hi, my name is Mark Innes. Me and my sister Claire along with as many other family, friends and colleagues are hoping to raise as much money as possible over a 12 month period for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The main motivation behind this is to show support for Claire who at just 41yrs old was recently diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer. The continued support that Claire and our family has received to help cope with the worry and stress that this terrible disease causes (in Claire's own word's) has been fantastic.

Unfortunately cancer has and probably will have an impact on all of us at some point in our lives until all known preventions and cures are found and implemented. Until that day we all need that physical and emotional support to help us cope and face our worst fears.

Macmillan12 is our team name and along with Claire, family, friends and whoever else wants to join us, we have planned to take part in a minimum of 12 events spread over a maximum of 12 month's to help raise in excess of £1200 for the Macmillan Cancer Support Team.

Claire has been a huge inspiration to me & others in the way she has handled this unexpected, life changing news. Claire is determined to live her life to the full and to still be the best mother, daughter, sister and friend she can whilst undergoing chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy, numerous dangerous infections, hair loss and all of the other physical & emotional effects that this horrible disease causes.

Claire wants to run the Manchester marathon and hike the 100 mile West Hghland Way in 2018. These are 2 mammoth challenges for the fittest of people but knowing Claire i have every confidence in her achieving these goals.

The main thing is that she continues to fight this disease and gets rid of it for good. With the support of her family & friends and the support of the Macmillan Cancer Support Team, she can.

Updates and photos will be posted when challenges are completed. Please help to support us in any way you can by either joining our team for some of our planned events, spreading the word or by donating whatever you can.

Thank you #Macmillan12 #TeamClaire
