The Banham Marsden March · 10 March 2019 ·

We are raising money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, in support of the groundbreaking Cancer Immunotherapy Research Project.

Story

On Sunday 19 May a team of walkers from Macfarlanes, along with some of their friends and family, are taking on The Banham Marsden March - a 15 mile walk between The Royal Marsden's two hospitals in Chelsea and Sutton.  Some of our walkers are taking on the final five mile leg.  They will be joined by thousands of others including patients, families and friends of the hospital, even some of the consultants.

We are doing this to raise vital funds for our charity partner, The Royal Marsden Cancer Immunotherapy Research Project. This is a groundbreaking research project and was in part inspired by the experience of one of our firm's partners, who underwent life-saving immunotherapy treatment at The Royal Marsden hospital.

Immunotherapy boosts the body's own immune system to recognise and attack cancer cells and has led to the development of new drugs which now offer hope to patients with advanced and previously untreatable cancer. Immunotherapy is a real game-changer in cancer treatment, opening up a new avenue for treating cancer which didn't previously exist. We need your support to help develop this new area of treatment that holds huge potential for cancer patients everywhere. You can make direct donations to the charity in support of this exciting research project on this page.

The original walk was planned for 10 March but due to Storm Gareth, it had to be postponed.

The following are taking on the five mile route:
