Story
Nearly two years ago we held a philanthropists dinner party and we raised just over £20,000, it would be miraculous if we could do something similar to this again.
As you know great fun can be had whilst at the same time raising money and awareness for charity, here are the details.
To be held by any one of you as a host/hostess
The idea is that you send out an invitation to a charitable dinner and charge people say £10 or whatever you feel would suit you to come to a ‘special’ dinner/lunch party. If you feel it appropriate during the dinner you could hold a game/auction/raffle.
The dinners are all on the same day Saturday 16th March 2013
All money raised will be divided between two charities that are very important to us.
'ATAXIA UK' and 'THE BRAIN TUMOUR TRUST'
The Cardozo family, have 3 children with Freidriechs Ataxia which is a degenerating neurological disease, Ataxia UK raise funds that go towards research into finding a cure and to offering advice and help to those who suffer from it.
The Langton-Gilks family had a son who lost his battle to brain cancer. The Brain Tumour Charity is the leading charity dedicated to adult and childhood brain tumour research in the UK. Their aim is to raise awareness, support and funds for brain tumour research to help fight this devastating disease and give hope to brain tumour patients. Not everyone needs to die from a brain tumour.
Our target is to hold 100 dinner parties all raising money on the same day. They can be held anywhere in the world.
Please do contact us if you would like any help or if you have any questions. If you are holding a Philanthropists Dinner let us know so that we can reach our target. I also have some invitations for you to send out to guests if you would rather do it by post. Please pass the word round, as the Philanthropists Dinner Party is open to everyone it would be fantastic to have dinners in as many counties and countries as possible.
Have fun being philanthropic, all the best
