Fighting Hunger One Mile at a Time!

Step Challenge 2021 · 11 January 2021 to 1 March 2021 ·
I'm getting active for the fight against hunger by logging at least 21 miles in 21 days. You can help today by donating $21 - or more - to the Central Texas Food Bank!
Why 21? The Food Bank serves 21 counties and last year distributed nearly 54 million meals to our neighbors in need across Central Texas. The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically increased the need for their services, with thousands of families each month turning to the Food Bank for the first time in their lives.
You can help by donating to my fundraiser - right here - and I'll keep you updated on my progress by logging each mile I step, roll, ride, or run.
Every $1 provides 4 meals for Central Texans facing hunger. Donate today!
I'm raising money in memory of Jesse Pena, a very dedicated Food Bank Mobile Pantry volunteer that recently passed away.
I met Jesse back in April 2020 when I started working at Central Texas Food Bank with the Mobile Pantry team. Jesse was off work due to COVID, and started volunteering full time with us. When I say full time, I mean 5-6 days a week! He would often drive 1-2 hours to volunteer, as the Food Bank covers 21 counties. We all got to know Jesse well, and I personally viewed him as a fun uncle, always prepared, always had fun music to play to keep everyone’s mood up, and typically had some sort of spirit in his truck “just in case”, not that we ever partook!
Jesse consistently put the needs of others before his day after day. His dedication to the Food Bank's cause is my inspiration to participate in this challenge. His friendship and support will be missed by many.
