Rydw i newydd gyhoeddi llyfr am fy mywyd a'm brwydr iechyd meddwl yn ystod y 5 mlynedd diwethaf 'Rhyddhau'r Cranc (Y Lolfa). Roedd popeth yn mynd yn wych a minnau dal ar gwmwl wedi'r cyhoeddi, tan i mi dorri i lawr yn ddiweddar a chanfod fy hun mewn dyfnderoedd argyfwng iechyd meddwl newydd. Am y tro cyntaf yn fy hanes, rydw i am geisio cwffio'r Iselder/BPD y tro hyn allan yn y gymuned yn hytrach na mynd i'r ysbyty. Rydw i eisoes wedi bod yn derbyn gofal dwys yn y gymuned. Un o'r pethau dw i'n gobeithio wnaiff fy helpu i oresgyn y salwch dro hyn yw cerdded. Mi feddyliodd fy CPN (June Jones) am her wych i mi - Cerdded 100k erbyn fy mhenblwydd yn 33 oed Medi 19. A'r peth anhygoel? Mae June yn cerdded bob cam o'r daith hefo fi. Y bwriad yw ceisio cerdded 5k (3 neu 4 gwaith) yr wythnos am y 6 wythnos nesaf. Dwi'n gobeithio casglu arian i achos gwerthchweil drwy wneud yr her, ond dw i'n gobeithio hefyd y caiff y cerdded effaith gadarnhaol ar fy iechyd meddwl a'm hwyliau. Bydd croeso i unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb ymuno â ni ar y daith 5k diwethaf (manylion i ddod yn fuan). Mi fydda i'n rhannu'r lluniau o'r teithiau cerdded ar Facebook a Twitter.
I have just published a Welsh book about my life and mental health struggles over the last 5 years. Life was great and I was happily resting on a beautiful cloud following the publication, until recently when my mental health took a nosedive and I found myself, perhaps for the 5/6 time in my life deep in crisis. But, there's one big difference this time, I plan on trying to fight Depression/BPD out in the community instead of going back into hospital (which is what I've done every other time). One thing that I hope will help me this time is walking. My CPN (June Jones) thought about a great challenge I could do - walking 100k by my 33rd birthday 19 of September. And, the amazing thing is that June says she's in it too and will be walking this journey alongside me. We plan to walk 3 or 4 x 5k walks a week for the next 6 weeks. We'll also be inviting all who are interested to join us for the last 5k walk (details of the walk/time will be published in the near future). I'll be posting pics of walks on Faceook and Twitter.
I am fundraising for I CAN and would be really grateful if you could donate whatever you can afford to this special cause (info below).
I CAN is being led by a coalition of people who are committed to bettering the range of community support services available while helping to tackle stigma and encourage open conversations about mental health.People who are Independent, Contributing, Active and Networked enjoy better mental health and wellbeing. They have more resilience, enabling them to face life's challenges and say I CAN.
Money raised through the campaign will help fund community projects which provide support closer to home for people experiencing a mental health crisis, as well as schools based programmes and improved early intervention.
