The Hairless Headteacher

Hairless Head · 2 July 2019
Two pupils at Reigate St Mary’s,
George and Florence, have been incredibly brave through several years of
intensive treatment for cancer.
As Headteacher, I was challenged by
one of our Year 6 pupils, Claudia, who is having her hair cut off to raise
money for childhood cancer charity George and the Giant Pledge (Royal Marsden
Hospital), to do the same. I have accepted the challenge and will have my head shaved
by George and Florence on the last day of term. My Giant Shave will also
celebrate the end of Florence’s chemotherapy – she gets to ring the bell this
week!
As a soon to be hairless Headteacher,
I would like to challenge other Headteachers to do something big and bold to
support the cause! #Headtoheadchallenge
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity
raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer
centre. They ensure their nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the
very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK
and around the world. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and
ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, they
never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
