A father/son team are aiming to raise awareness and funds for Brain Tumour UK, in memory of a great grandad and father Fergus Holland, MBE, a special individual whose life was cruelly cut short in nine short weeks by an aggressive brain tumour. 

 

In memory and awareness for a great cause we are going to cycle just over 1000 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats between 10th and 26th of June 2011 to raise much needed awareness and funds for Brain Tumour UK, the leading charity committed to fighting brain tumours by providing support, research funding and raising awareness.

 

Around 16,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year and only 12% of males and 15% of females survive beyond 5 years compared to 50% for all cancers. A truely tragic statistic which should not go unnoticed.
