Cots for TotsVerified by JustGiving
RCN 1043603
Cots for Tots is the special care baby charity raising money to save and transform lives at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital Bristol, and Cots for Tots House, free 'home from home' accommodation for families of babies from Bristol, the South West, South Wales and beyond.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

What started out as a 40th Birthday challenge became an opportunity to raise some money for a charity, there are so many various good causes, but we chose the Cots for Tots appeal as in March 2012, when all this started taking shape, Pauls's wife's cousin gave birth to a baby boy at 24 weeks!
His name is Alfie and we followed him as a family but he also created demand for weekly updates from within our Cycle Club, Salt N Sham, and that’s when we decided that if we could help a charity linked with premature baby units/ill children, then that would be our preference, hence Cots for Tots.
Its quite amazing to understand some of the things they do, more so from the 'Parents' perspective with ill children/babies and how they have accommodation facility, the Cots for Tots House to allow families to stay close to their baby, free of charge  when they are being treated in the Special Care Baby Unit at St Michael’s Hospital, Bristol.
So we are taking up this Self Funded Mid Life Crisis Challenge and hope to raise lots of cash to help the Families and Babies who need 'Cots for Tots' support and bring about more happy endings,  Alfie has now just turned 1 year old and without the NICU units support would not be with us today.

THE CHALLENGE

Cyclists had climbed the famous Mont-Ventoux (Windy Mount) by One of three main roads (Bédoin, Malaucène, Sault) and all were very proud to have added these to their palmares. In 1988 Cingles Club made it 3!

Qualified by numerous winners of the Tour de France as the hardest of all the major French and even europeanpasses.

So in May 2013, 14 of us are heading out to Ventoux, Self Funded, to attempt climbing this Mountain 3 times in a single day, 75km of uphill riding!!
