Story
This May, I am attempting to run the Hackney Half-Marathon, my first ever half-marathon! I've done a number of cycling-based charity events over the last few years, so wanted to stretch myself a little further and do something different..
I'm doing it to raise funds for Compassion In World Farming (CIWF), a charity dedicated to the eradication of factory farming methods. Factory farming is both the biggest cause of animal cruelty in the world, due to the sheer number of animals involved, and one of the greatest sustainability concerns of our time, with its impact ranging from climate change to biodiversity loss to food insecurity. CIWF is also a very efficient, highly pragmatic and non-dogmatic charity (just like me, if you disregard "efficient"), so please consider supporting me in this, every little is highly appreciated!
I've set a deliberately ambitious target amount, because as an extra-special bonus - gasp - , if I hit the £400 target I'll agree to run it dressed up as a farm animal.
