Story
I have been a volunteer football coach with the Special Olympics for the last 10 years. I coach a small group of athletes each Wednesday with the help of many other wonderful volunteers. It is an enormous privilege to be involved with an amazing group of athletes, parents, carers, and volunteers.
I am doing the 5km fun run (10km optional if my ageing body permits) to raise some money and awareness for local Special Olympics clubs. The Special Olympics is an important organisation that makes a real difference in the lives of the many athletes involved, and I encourage anyone to get involved in whatever way they can.
The Kuringgai Chase is the major fundraiser for our local Special Olympics club and programs cant continue as they are without your support. This is BIG ask for all the Special Olympics athletes that benefit so much from being able to participate in the weekly sports program. Hope you can help! The Special Olympics Upper North Shore Club is part of a global movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability.
