I am lucky enough to work with the charity and see the positive affect the respite holidays they provide have on disabled people and their carers lives. Revitalise is the largest provider of respite holidays for disabled people and carers in the UK. They welcome people who need the reassurance of 24 hour on-call nursing care in order to have a respite holiday. Underpinning all they do is one simple, immutable belief – everybody needs a break.
Nobody in the UK does what they do. By combining nurse-led care and the support of an army of residential volunteers, with imaginative excursions and activities, they give their guests something truly unique – a break that feels like a proper holiday.
In doing this they also enable carers to take a proper break too – which is vital when a third of all carers have never taken even a single day away from their caring duties.
