Enduro Challenge 2013 · 20 September 2013

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in this year's Enduro Challenge to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), Credit Suisse's UK charity of the year.

The 2013 competition will take place between 20-22 September, where three relay teams of six triathletes from professional firms will run 160km from the Tower of London to Dover Clock Tower, then swim 40km across the English Channel to France, and finally cycle 300km from Calais to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, with each team member completing a roughly equal share of the run, swim and cycle disciplines.  To make the challenge even tougher, due to tide times the swim will be at night and no wetsuits are allowed!

I took part in this event last year, however, due to bad weather it was deemed too dangerous to swim the Channel, so the swim was round Dover Harbour.  This has left a personal challenge of mine unfinished, so I am hoping for more favourable conditions this time to complete the Channel Swim too (although swimming at night in cold water is not that favourable)!

If you can sponsor me, I will be very grateful and all your money is going to a great cause.
