I am running the Blaenavon (Mic Morris) 10k run in memory of my Nan and as a massive thank you on behalf of my Mam as they have both received treatment at Velindre.

The care and support of the staff at Velindre provided my Mam with the medical care, support, courage and tenacity to fight off the disease. We will be forever grateful as a family for the brilliant work that they do.

I considered differing options of how to contact Velindre and raise funds for them and thought what better way to do it than through Team Megaday.

Megaday is an event in Caerphilly that has already raised in excess of £300,000 for Velindre and they encourage anyone and everyone to raise funds through their name and help set up all of the sponsorships and fund raising pages for me as well as registering the event with Velindre.

I have set a target of £200 and hope this event is the first of many where I can assist to make people's lives a little more comfortable when they are receiving treatment from the amazing staff at Velindre.
