For 50 years, Kidney Care UK has been providing direct support for kidney patients and working hard to improve health and care services across the UK. With no government funding, it is your donations alone that improves life for kidney patients.

Story

I am a double transplant recipient, charity fundraiser and inspirational speaker. I have done a lot of work raising awareness for Organ Donation on national and local TV, Radio and other media. I have also won a Stray FM Bravery award and to date around £15,000 for charity through walks and a charity dinner in October 2018. I have also spoken in many different places about my story.

This is a walk I have done before but I now have a disability in my foot which should stop me walking further than 7-8 miles so this will be a challenge, not just from a transplant view but from the view of a foot which has to be looked after very well. Yet my walking has got me back to some measure of distance and this is my latest challenge.

Kidney disease is a killer. It is incurable and only managed by Transplant or Dialysis. Neither of which are cures. Money raised will go to support patients with financial or emotional needs and support requirements whilst also continuing the work or promoting organ donation by telling our stories to motivate others to have conversations with family and friends about their wishes for their organs.

Please help me raise vital funds. Dialysis is just as bad as chemotherapy but lasts longer and people come off it having had enough and the outcome for those is final and heartbreaking. Your support will enable people to receive the support they need.
