People suffering from poor Mental Health is a huge problem in today's society, with the industry I work in (catering and hospitality) continuing to be one of the most affected. And although social stigma surrounding mental illness has been diminished, I believe it is still in existence and in my opinion, a lot more still needs to be done. Off the Record Bristol (OTR) is a mental health charity that provides mental health support and info to young people aged 11-25 across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. OTR’s services are free, confidential, self-referral and provide a variety of support projects to combat mental and emotional health needs such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, OCD, abuse, eating disorders, family breakdown and substance abuse.

After running my first 10km race just last December, the thought of running double that distance and completing a Half marathon around this awesome city of ours still terrifies me! However the thought of running whilst raising funds for such an important charity, will inevitably push me on to complete the challenge.
