Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Wooden Spoon is an inspirational charity providing for under-privelaged children in a variety of difficult situations. The Great Lakeland Challenge is a fantastic (if a little foolish) way to test ourselves to the maximum in a stunning environment for an incredibly worthy cause.

The Airedale Chemicals team of Dan, Craig, Graham and Mark want to raise £4000 for The Wooden Spoon by taking this challenge. We aim to cayak the length of Lake Windemere (10.5m), cycle the 2 steepest road passes in the country (26 miles), and if that were not enough, then climb to the top of Scafell Pike (the highest mountain in England), all in a time of about 10 hours.

The attached video is quite amazing and certainly worth a couple of minutes of your time for a better idea of what is entailed in the challenge, and if you feel you can help, please donate toward a truly worthy cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate -we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Many thanks from the Airedale Chemicals team
