Story
Each year millions of people make journeys across water. For most of us this passage is safe however for many it is not. Every day, those fleeing persecution and conflict need to make perilous journeys to seek safety. This year, as a way to stand with people who need to make dangerous journeys, Freedom from Torture North London Supporters Group is hosting a fund raising challenge, 'Crossing Over Water'.
Freedom from Torture is a charity, which for 30 years has provided therapeutic, medical and legal support for survivors of torture. More information can be found at https://www.freedomfromtorture.org/
My sister, Teresa Nunn, has been involved with this charity for a while and has set up a team of us to attempt to cross twenty-one London bridges between Richmond Bridge and Tower Bridge, a total walk of between 20 and 22 miles. We are doing this on Friday 17th September.
This is our representation of "Crossing Over Water', and we hope to raise as much money as we can to help in the vital work that 'Freedom From Torture' does for refugees reaching our country.
Any help that you can give would be much appreciated! If I don't make it to the end, perhaps it's a reminder that many don't reach safety.
