Crohn’s & Colitis UK

We offer information, support and research to people affected by Crohn's and Colitis

Charity Registration No. 1117148 (England & Wales) and SC038632 (Scotland)

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I was able to get a place in the London Marathon through my running club (Clapham Runners) so i don't have to raise money. However, I want to - which is where you lot come in!

I'm raising money for Crohn's and Colitis UK - a charity which aims to improve life for everyone affected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Why them? A very dear friend of mine has this disease (along with about 250,000 other people in the UK) and at present there is no known cure. All the money is ploughed into providing support to those affected and also carrying out critical research, so they may one day find a cure.

So - it's a worthy charity and they deserve support, but what reasons are there for you to support me?!

1) I may have sponsored you in the past (what goes around comes around);

2) I aimed to run the Paris Marathon two years ago but injured my knee in training. (I've even undergone surgery to get ready for this race);

3) I may have worked with you and put in loads of extra hours (this'll make you feel better about all the unpaid hours!);

4) It always seems to rain when I go for a training run (playing the sympathy card!)

It's unusual for me to ask for anything. Please stick you hand in your pocket and see what comes out. Coins are ok, paper is preferred, plastic is better!

Here's the technical bit: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
