Story

Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page.

I’ve been fortunately allocated a spot on this years London Marathon and with this comes an opportunity to raise some funds for our local hospice, St Luke’s.

St Luke’s Hospice was a place my late father, Pat, would visit during the latter stages of his fight against Lung Cancer.

Dad, prior to his illness, was already a supporter of St Luke's and he built and installed a new bike rack and block paving area for the hospice - and to my amazement it’s still standing today!!!

I’ve run 3 other marathons and Dad was at each of them, so it will not be the same to finish without him buying me a much needed pint at the end!

St Luke’s Hospice was also the hospice that a very close work colleague of mine, Denis Murphy, would end his battle with Cancer.

Denis and I met on my first project for J. Murphy and Sons and pretty much spent all our time working together and I would often bump into him and his wife Mary in the evening as they walked in Bentley Priory.

My hope is that I can raise money for St Luke’s, in memory of both my Dad and Denis, so that St Luke’s can continue to offer care and assistance to people and families when they need it most.

Thanks again for taking the time to visit my page and it would be great if you can donate.

Martin.
