Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Please sponsor me as I take on this tough challenge which follows the 100 mile Olympic road cycling route all the way from London to Surrey and back on 10th August.

I’m delighted to be Team Captain of the Beating Bowel Cancer team once more and cycle alongside 77 other supporters all raising funds and awareness for the charity.

Beating Bowel Cancer is a charity close to my heart as I lost my grandfather to the disease and my Mum was diagnosed at the relatively young age of 59. I now undergo regular screening and am doing what I can to spread the word that early diagnosis saves lives.

Bowel cancer remains the UK’s second biggest cancer killer. Every 15 minutes someone in the UK hears the devastating news that they have bowel cancer, yet 90% of cases could be treated successfully if they are caught early. Beating Bowel Cancer exists to help support patients and their families and raise awareness of the symptoms.

It’s going to be a tough ride, but I will feel better knowing I’m raising money for such an important cause and I appreciate any support you can give.

Thank you,

Matt Dawson
