Matt's Swansea to Caernarfon, Wales in a Day, Isn't It.

Swansea to Caernarfon, Wales in a Day · 12 September 2020
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was supposed to be heading out with a team from Sleaford Wheelers and Tri3 Sleaford triathlon club to cross wales in a day in early May but due to COVID-19, we had to cancel the adventure. As I had booked the hotel I decided to rearrange my trip and go and do it in September as a solo effort. I have arranged a small support crew (My friend Andy and his dog Pip) they will be keeping me fed and watered so that I can minimise stops and maximise time on the bike. I will have to ride 169 miles from Swansea to Caernarfon, climbing a total of just over 4600m all in one day. So I will be setting out on the morning of September 12th around 4.30 am.
I wanted to do something to remember a friend of mine Jon Jones, Jon and I had a lot in common including a thirst for adventure so this seems like a fitting challenge to remember him. Jon was taken from us far to young at just 39 years old.
Jon volunteered for a local charity in Bourne called Don't lose hope and that is why I have chosen to support this wonderful charity. A local charity that helps many people through some very dark times. Please visit their website for more information about what they do.
