Why St Gemma's Hospice?.... In Memory of Mark Hick
On the 4th of September 2020, our local community lost one of its finest gentlemen.
Mark was only 44 years old when was diagnosed on the 19th of January 2020, with stage 4 terminal pancreatic cancer. He bravely fought and battle with every breath in his body but sadly lost his battle, Mark was dad of 2 young daughters and husband to wife Vicky.
Mark never complained once, never moaned and stayed positive all along.
Mark's family had absolute confidence in the whole team at St Gemma's Hospice and they knew Mark would have been cared with dignity, compassion and kindness.
The team was with Mark and his family to the end and following his passing they supported his family with a tailored bereavement support and counselling.
St Gemma’s Hospice has a fantastic local reputation following the care we have provided to the people of Leeds and surrounding for over 40 years.
