Story
On Sunday 26th April 2026, I will be running the London Marathon for Crohn’s and Colitis UK in support of my dad and everyone else who has Crohn’s and/or Colitis.
My dad was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 2002 and has since gone through surgery, flare ups, infusions, and many hospital visits/stays. Growing up, my first memory of my dad having Crohn’s was in 2017 when my brother and I were competing at a Swim gala and suddenly we realised my dad had left, we were told later on that my dad was having a Crohn’s flare up and was then admitted into the hospital for a while. From then, I quickly realised there was no cure as it was a chronic illness. However there is a charity, a charity I can raise money for and bring awareness to in order to help other people like my dad and consequently other families like mine!
I have witnessed the challenges and the resilience involved in living with Crohn’s disease and this is my main reason to run the London Marathon in support of my dad and Crohn’s and Colitis UK. My dad is my reason why!
As someone with little running experience, running a Marathon will be hard but it is not as tough as what people who suffer with Crohn’s and/or Colitis go through.
I would love for everyone to join my journey whether it’s donating (small or big donations are appreciated!), following my accounts on instagram (megansmarathon2026) and TikTok (megan_0898), and/or sharing my account and thus my dad’s story!
I will post daily on my social media updating everyone with my journey and my training for the London Marathon - I’d like to see you there😊💜
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

Crohn's & Colitis UK are the UK's leading charity for Crohn's and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. I am taking part in the 2026 TCS London Marathon to support Crohn's & Colitis UK, and your donation can help Crohn's & Colitis UK's mission to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and raise awareness.
