In the summer of 2019 we were lucky as a family to have the opportunity to visit Borneo, where we saw first hand the adverse impact of the Palm Oil industry on the rainforest and the animals that live there.  We visited the NGO that World Land Trust (WLT) works with, and learned for ourselves how the local population are helping to restore parts of the rainforest that have been lost over the years to palm oil production.

Through the ballot for the London Marathon we both secured places in the April 2020 marathon, and decided that we would use the opportunity to raise funds for WLT to help the tree planting project in Borneo. However, due to Covid the London Marathon in 2020 was cancelled, and we are now taking up our places in this years race on 2nd October 2022.
