On Sunday 28 October I am running my first half marathon to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

 

L&LR are Charity close to my heart as my dad was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma about 10 years ago, now.

 

Dad has been a fighter right from the start and until this year, his illness has never much affected my family’s lives as he has never let it! In May, however, dad was admitted into hospital and diagnosed with febrile neutropenia. It was an awful time for my family and a complete shock as we have never seen him so ill before; not even after any of his toxic chemo sessions. He would always be back in high spirits by the time he arrived home. Thankfully, dad being dad, he made a miraculous recovery within 2 weeks and although maybe taking life little slower these days, he is back in his usual spirits.

 

I would like to donate to L&LR to support all the work they do for people like my dad and in some cases maybe much less fortunate. If it wasn’t for all the research into new medicines these guys do, my dad would probably not still be here today. It is important we continue to fight this battle together. I know my dad is still fighting and for as long as he is I won’t be giving up either!
