Nick's Summit Challenge · 27 February 2022

At Gillies McIndoe Research Institute, our talented researchers & PhD students look to identify the causes of disfiguring conditions and cancer. Aiming to develop novel treatments that avoid or reduce the need for surgery, radiotherapy & chemotherapy, ultimately leading to better health outcomes.

Story

Welcome, thanks for stopping by!

I'm part of Nick's crew from Xero. As friends and teammates, we are supporting him on his brave journey to recovery as he faces his second bout of cancer. We are supporting Nick as a team, by banding together to raise money for the Gillies-McIndoe Research Institute (GMRI), which he is an ambassador for.

GMRI is focused on making cancer treatment less intrusive more accessible and more affordable. Nick is a cancer survivor himself who 5 years after recovering from treatment set a goal to fundraise for the GMRI by completing the challenging and gruelling Mt Fuji Summit Race 21km, in which he also climbed 3,776m in elevation. He completed that goal and has since become an ambassador for the GMRI.

I've set a goal of running 21km per week, for every week during March. I'd love your support through donations or shout outs (I'm gonna need those!) over the next month. You can also watch my teammates complete their own fitness challenges (we've all set our own fitness goals).
