Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

So why am I doing this coast 2 coast bike ride?

In October my girlfriend Pam Hankinson was diagnosed with Cancer. While Pam was undergoing her chemotherapy treatment we were impressed by the way we were treated by all the nurses and staff at Clatterbridge. One day while waiting to see the consultant I noticed leaflets on fund raising for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. My original idea was to participate in the sky dive which the Charity organise. Then after looking at the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity website I noticed they do a coast 2 coast bike ride called 'way of the roses.' I have always wanted to do a coast 2 coast bike ride, but never really had a reason to do so. Now I have a very good reason to do the ride.

After looking more into the way of the roses ride I decided that finishing a coast 2 coast ride in North Yorkshire would of been a bit of an anti-climax to the end of the ride. So I decided to create my own route. I looked on google maps and soon picked out Skegness as it was almost directly on the opposite coast to Wallasey. This just had to be my route.

So my route starts in Skegness on Wednesday 16th September, and will finish at 'The Ferry' pub on Egremont  promenade. All are invited to welcome me home here on Saturday 19th September.
