In March 2018, my partners Mum Andrea passed away suddenly from a brain tumour. 8 months later my partners Dad Graham was also diagnosed with a brain tumour. To say our worlds have been turned upside down is an understatement. 

Soon after Graham was diagnosed, he was in hospital having surgery. Then at the start of 2019 Graham started his radiotherapy for 6 weeks. Through all of this Graham has still managed to stay very active. Regularly going on long walks at the weekend with his family and never once complaining about being tired. 

I have been wanting to get back into running for nearly 3 years. Seeing how active Graham has been with everything that’s happened to him over the passed year has spurred me on to enter the Sheffield Half Marathon. I am running in the memory of Andrea but also in the support of Graham’s ongoing courage and bravery he has shown.
