I'm raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, inspired by a friend's son who lives with this condition. Each day Struan has to take a multitude of drugs and repeatedly perform physio. Like me, Struan is a keen cyclist and has completed the 48 mile Glasgow to Edinburgh cycle. I know that there are new and better treatments and drugs that, with a little more funding, could be brought forward. These will help many of those that live with the condition through both extending life expectancy and giving a better quality of life. I'd like to help make that happen.

I am riding this year's Etape du Tour, a stage of the Tour de France covering 178km from Briancon, over the Col de Vars and finishing on the summit of the Col d'Izoard. I've decided to make it a little more interesting by then riding back to the start, making it a 200km day. Details of the route and the race can be found at http://www.letapedutour.com/us/

I've ridden in the Alps and I've ridden long distances before. Its always a challenge, but this year is going to be more so as I came off the bike shortly after New Year and inflicted a Grade 3 dislocation of the Acromioclavicular (shoulder) joint upon myself. So my challenge is going to be getting myself healthy and fit enough to do this. Anything you can give, no matter how small, would be gratefully received and add that little bit of motivation.
