Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I want to ride in as many cycling events as I possibly can, my aim is to cycle 1500 miles, a £1 per mile. Starting with the Lion Heart on Sunday 22nd March which is a total of 100 miles round trip from Longleat Safari Park. I will edit this page as and when I enter the next sportif, giving the total of miles cycled.

I am doing this in memory of our good friends Andy and Jo's son, Richard, who sadly passed away in June last year at the age of just 22 after a short hard fought illness.  He was a genuinely "great" young man who was going places and had the whole life in front of him.

So, I am supporting the charity ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund) as they provided support and care for Richard and  just as importantly his family during and after his illness. As a group of family and friends, just under £10,000 has already been raised since June last year for this worthwhile cause. All the money raised will go towards a target of £420,000 to build a suite of rooms on Yarty Ward, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital to help families like Richards to be near their side. Please see the link below for more information on the Chevithorne Appeal for ELF and on Richard's story.
