"I'm running to raise funds for frontline activists because what they do is essential to exposing and preventing violence and abuse perpetrated by multinational companies in their transnational operations and to efforts to secure redress for those harmed. Our work very much depends on such activists, whose efforts often put them at risk from both the companies and the security forces that the companies employ. RAID, a UK-based corporate watchdog, works side-by-side with these local heroes in places such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad and Tanzania to hold multinational companies to account for human rights abuses and environmental harm.
