Frontline activists and lawyers are exposing some of the world's worst examples of corporate abuse often at great risk. RAID, a UK-based corporate watchdog, works side-by-side with these local heroes in places such as the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad and Tanzania to hold multinational companies to account for human rights abuses and environmental harm.
Often forced to work under the radar, African lawyers and activists are at the frontlines of corporate accountability. They collect evidence and information about abuses by multinationals, act as the contact for those affected, and struggle through national courts against the power of corporate giants. RAID partners with these lawyers and activists. Our work in helping to hold companies to account would be impossible without them.
This year, our team of RAID runners are taking to the streets of London in the Royal Parks Half Marathon. Sponsoring one of our team of 12 runners will help support the fantastic work being done on the frontlines.
RAID's work has a huge impact. We have a track record in taking on multinational companies and succeeding in bringing about remedy for the victims. This past year, we exposed human rights abuses by UK-listed company Petra Diamonds Ltd at its mine in Tanzania, which helped lead to a settlement of $6 million for those harmed by the company's activities.
What's more, we called out the aggressive legal tactics of a large multinational mining company, and successfully issued an OECD complaint against mining giant Glencore for harm to local communities living near the company's oil field in Chad.
Were also scrutinising the dirty underbelly of renewable energy amid the green transition, particularly environmental harm and human rights abuses at the cobalt mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo, whose minerals are destined for the electric vehicles likely to soon dominate our streets.
We stand at the crucial intersection of human rights, environment and corruption to work towards corporate accountability and remedy for local people.

RAID only takes part in one collective annual fundraising event, so we want to make this count! Sponsoring one of our RAID runners is a great way to help bring about real change, justice and remedy.
Thank you so much for supporting our work.
